{"id":3286,"count":14,"description":"If you are looking to get outside to do some jogging or off-pavement walks with your little one, the requisite gear for this type of outing is a jogging stroller. Regular strollers can\u2019t handle the same jostling, bumpy and uneven surfaces that a jogging stroller can. These strollers have features such as air-inflated tires, a suspension system, a long and stable footprint, and a lockable or fixed front wheel to ensure a smooth ride (and hopefully nap time!) for Junior.\r\n\r\nSome models in our test, like the Thule Glide, have fixed front wheels that stay pointed forward. This is great for jogging, but not so great in other situations and we found it awkward to maneuver. Other models, like the award-winning Burley Solstice, have a front wheel that can be set to swivel if you are walking and navigating corners, but can be locked in position when jogging and moving more quickly. This feature makes the stroller more versatile, allowing it to be used as a regular stroller as well as for jogging.\r\n\r\nFrom the point of view of the passenger, there are several comfort features to look for. All strollers should have a five-point harness to secure the child inside. Additionally some have reclining seats, which make napping a more enticing proposition. Look for weather protection features such as a sun canopy to keep the glare out of the little one\u2019s eyes and the wind out of their face. Often these canopies will have a see-through window so you can keep tabs on your passenger from behind.\r\n\r\nFrom a parent\u2019s point of view, jogging strollers have some convenience features, such as cup holders (for your drink and a sippy cup or bottle for the rider), under the seat storage, and an easy-to-use fold and stow system.\r\n\r\nJogging strollers, since they carry precious cargo, also have safety features. Some will come with a strap that can wrap around your wrist, so if the handlebar slips from your fingers the stroller can\u2019t get away from you. Some will have hand brakes for use while jogging, and many will feature a lockable brake for parking the stroller without fear of it rolling away.\r\n\r\nWe most recently tested the best jogging strollers in 2016. In that test, these products were evaluated (with a small co-pilot in tow) on pavement and off-road on uneven trails.
